Gunners linked with Kaladze move

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Kakha Kaladze, who is reportedly on his way out of AC Milan.

Reports in the Italian press suggest the Georgia international is ready to leave the San Siro.

The versatile defender has informed coach Carlo Ancelotti he is seeking regular first-team football and this could alert the attention of the Premiership's biggest clubs.

Kaladze has been a long-term target for Chelsea and Manchester United while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also expected to make enquiries after admitting he is seeking an experienced defender.

On Tuesday the Gunners boss confirmed they have made an offer for William Gallas but revealed the Frenchman was not the only target.

He said: "We want the player because we made an offer for him. That is clear. Gallas is not the only player we have a chance of getting. As you know there is always a lot happening in the last few days - but he is a player we have a chance to get."

The future of left-back Ashley Cole remains uncertain despite his clear desire to leave and Wenger's willingness to let him go and Kaladze would be a suitable addition to the squad.

Because of his injury, he played no part in either leg of Milan's Champions League qualifer against Crvena Zvezda and would therefore be eligible for European competition this season.
